Juanita Barnhart, 90, of St. Marys, W.Va., passed away Dec. 1, 2012, at Carehaven of Pleasants, surrounded by her family.
Juanita was born May 5, 1922, in Pleasants County, W.Va., where she lived most of her life.
She worked at Weirton Steel Tin Mill during World War II, and was retired from the former Colin Anderson Center as a seamstress. She was a talented crafter and seamstress.
Juanita was the only child of Jesse and Harriett Shultz, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Fitzgerald.
Surviving Juanita are her husband, Gilbert, whom she married on Jan. 15, 1944; sons, Jesse (Judy) Barnhart and Larry (Brenda) Barnhart, all of St. Marys; and daughter, Harriett Fitzgerald of Ripley, W.Va. In addition, she was the loving grandmother of Brian (Vicci), Steve (Maria), Brad, Linda (Bill), Ron (Terri), Renee (Chris), Alina and Leslie of St. Marys and Ripley, W.Va. She had 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
Juanita often said she had had a wonderful life. She took great pride in her family. Those who loved her will miss her so very much.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., with Jimmy Taylor and Dave Williamson officiating. Interment will be in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
