Donavan M. Butcher, 21, of St. Marys, W.Va. died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Loretta Sunderman of Parkersburg and the late Charles D. Butcher. He worked for Bulls Builders, and loved his horses and the outdoors. He was a true country boy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Blake Ashton Whitmore of Alexandria, Pa.; three brothers, Justin Sunderman of Buckhannon, Charles P. Butcher of Parkersburg and Robert Hammond of St. Marys; two sisters, Lora Butcher of Williamstown and Ally Butcher of Deerwalk; his paternal grandmother, Virginia Butcher of Belpre, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Lucy Sunderman of McConnelsville, Ohio; maternal grandfather, Clarence Sunderman of St. Marys; four nieces; three nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles E. Butcher.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Pastor Doug Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at McMullen Cemetery. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Monday at the church.
