Deanna Childers

Deanna Lee Childers, 56, of St. Marys, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 29, 2012.

She was born July 4, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Burton Damron and Eva Mae Miracle Robertson. She had attended the Good Hope Baptist Church near Willow Island, and was a homemaker. She had formerly worked as a glass engraver. She enjoyed flower gardening, crafts, cooking, spending time with family and friends, reading and enjoyed the family pets as well.

Surviving is one son, Wylie Dean (Michelle Huff) Childers; three daughters, Lisa Dawn (David) McCartney, Erin Marie (Gale) Meyer and Katlynn Michelle (Nick Whytsell) Childers, all of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Austin McCartney, Alex McCartney, Cyle West, Elyssa West, Rylee Childers and Skylyn Childers; one brother, Burton "Butch" (Connie Simmons) of St. Marys; sister, Penny E. (Bill) Bird of Friendly; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Childers; and a sister, Deborah Jean Smith.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Sunday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in St. Marys; Pastor Darrell Mayfield will officiate. There will be a gathering of friends and relatives to celebrate Deanna's life immediately following the service at Cytec Pond at Belmont.

Flowers and cards may be sent to her residence or memorial donations may be made to the Pleasants County dog shelter.
