CHARLESTON (AP) - Despite facing harsh criticism for a recent decision to dismiss the leader of West Virginia's public schools, the state Board of Education on Thursday affirmed its split vote to fire Jorea Marple as superintendent, citing a need to change direction after chronically poor student performance.
