PARKERSBURG - A Thursday night house fire at 1344 Lynn St. is being investigated by the Parkersburg Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the house at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Capt. M.A. Kunselman said the fire was controlled in about 10 minutes with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire had not been determined Thursday night. No one was in the house at the time of the fire, officials said.

Parkersburg firefighters wait to enter a house located at 1344 Lynn St., after a late night fire caused considerable damage to the dwelling.

"There is visible damage," Kunselman said. "We aren't sure what started it yet."

Kunselman said the flames were in the front section of the house and coming out of the windows; there was heavy smoke in the area.

A fire earlier in the day forced the unidentified woman living in the home to stay with family.

Kunselman said the electricity was shut off, but the power company was called out to check the power lines for electrical current.
