Glenn Dean Jones, 78, passed away Nov. 26, 2012, at his home in Toll Gate, W.Va.
He was born March 19, 1934 in Pennsboro, W.Va., a son of the late Sherman Jones and Lenna Jones Playso. Glenn was a member of the Pennsboro Church of Christ. He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army in 1962. It was during that time that Glenn met his lifelong friend who was like a brother, John Goodson. Glenn worked for J. P. Edmisten, Rutherford Trucking and Norman Jackson Trucking.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda L. Jones; his three children, Tammy L. Kerns of Parkersburg, W.Va., Rebecca Y. Ash (Galen) of Salem, W.Va. and Terry G. Jones (Melinda) of Pennsboro, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Amanda Camp (Scott), Courtney Kerns, Curtis Ash (Shaylyn), Cody Ash, Austin Jones (Jillian) and Quintin Jones; one great-granddaughter, Halle Hudson; three sisters, Erma Freeland (Jim), Linda Lambert (Paul) and Carolyn Payton (Paul); two brothers, Ray Jones and Kenneth Jones (Peggy); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents; two sisters, Donna Wilson and Opal Flesher; and two brothers, Encil Jones and Russell Jones.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Evangelist Albert Farley officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Harmony Masonic Cemetery, Pennsboro. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today.
