Peggy Banks Gordon, 70, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Nov. 20, 2012 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born in Elkton, Va., on March 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Etta Griggs Banks. She retired from the Bureau of Public Debt in 2008 and was a member of From the Heart Church Ministries of Belpre, Ohio.
Peggy is survived by her husband, William Gordon; two daughters, Ericka and her husband Gregory Smith of Silver Spring, Md., and Crystal Gordon of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one son William R. Gordon, Jr. of Parkersburg. Three brothers: Clinton F. Banks and his wife Beulah of Palmyra, N.J., E. Cornell Banks of Harrisonburg,Va., and Garfield E. Banks and his wife Edith of Elkton, Va., also a number of nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 at From the Heart Church Ministries of Belpre, 1226 Putman-Howe Drive, Belpre, Ohio, with church pastor Clarence P. Tompkins officiating.
