E. Lucille Mahaffey, 81, of Parkersburg passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 26, 1930 in Wood County, a daughter of the late David W. and Mary R. Sellers Sams. Lucille was a homemaker and was a receptionist at Weight Watchers for over 25 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Gihon United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Howard Mahaffey, Jr.; two sons, Steve Mahaffey and wife Linda and Joe Mahaffey and wife Rosie, all of Parkersburg; two daughters, Nancy Elder and fiance Jerry Ault of Belpre and Sharon Albert of Parkersburg; two brothers, Charles Sams and wife Nancy of Vienna, and Clarence Sams and wife Donna of Stewart, Ohio; four grandchildren, Scott Smith of Parkersburg, Kristi Benbow of Chambersburg, Pa., Kevin Mahaffey of Parkersburg, and Alex Albert of Chester, Va.; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Benbow, Kaylynn Albert, Paul Smith, and Emily Hess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Jim Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
