Together with their parents, Sara Lori Ann Clark and Matthew Steven Richards announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of David and Nora Clark of Saint John, New Bruswick. She is the granddaughter of the late Matthew and Evelyn Donovan of Saint John and Egberdina and the late Hezekiah Clark of Saint John. She is a 2004 graduate of Simonds High School and a 2008 graduate of St. Thomas University in New Brunswick with a bachelor's degree in criminology and human rights.

She returned from South Korea where she spent three years teaching English.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Steven and Terri Richards of Washington, W.Va. He is the grandson of Robert and Kathryn Stephens of Washington and the late Delmas and Corinne Richards of Parkersburg. He is a 2003 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2007 graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. He is a 2009 graduate from Syracuse University with a master's degree in communication and rhetorical studies. After spending one year in South Korea teaching English, he is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he also works as a teaching assistant.

An October wedding is planned.
