Stacy Nichole Lofty and Philip Michael DeWees were united in marriage on Oct. 13 at Saint Xavier Catholic Church in Parkersburg. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Neil Buchlein.
The bride is the daughter of Philip and Rebecca Lofty of Parkersburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Charles Robert and Marjorie Gilchrist and the late Philip Robert Lofty, all of Parkersburg. She is a 1997 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School. She graduate from West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Waldon University, summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is employed by INOVA Healthcare Systems of Mount Veron, Va.
The groom is the son of Nita DeWees of Orlando, Fla., and Duane and Debbie DeWees of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of the late William and Mary Newbanks and the late Norman and Maxine DeWees, all of Parkersburg. He is a 1996 graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida earning bachelor's degrees in English, psychology and philosophy. He works as a writer.

The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless white gown with a pearl beaded bodice surrounded by tiered tulle and a teir tulled train. She carried a hand-tied wedding bouquet of white Eskimo roses and white hydrangeas with white freesia nestled into the bouquet, accented by soft green Banksias plumrose. The stem was wrapped with white satin ribbon.
Matron of honor was Stephanie Durnell of Ashton, W.Va., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amber Reynolds of Parkersburg, Jamie Shuryn of Lexington Park, Md., friends of the bride, and Alannah Steed, Jacksonville, Fla., niece of the bride. The bridesmaids wore floor-length black spaghetti strap gowns and carried yellow roses.
The best man was Lou Gamoneda of Davie, Fla. Groomsmen were Bob Reynolds of Parkersburg and Lou Zapata of Orlando, friends of the groom. The gromsmen were black tuxes with yellow boutineers.
Ring bearers were Colton Durnell of Ashton, W.Va., and Alex Steed of Jacksonville, Fla., nephews of the bride.
Scripture was ready by Jim Durnell, brother-in-law of the bride, of Ashton. Nathan Hall was organist.
Bouquets and flower arrangements were provided by the groom's mother.
The bride-s brother, Jim Steed of Jacksonville, Fla., held a bridal party breakfast at the Blennerhassett Hotel.
A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's mother at Colombo's Italian Restaurant.
The wedding reception was held at the Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.
After a honeymoon to the Atlantis in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Lorton, Va.
