Vanessa Lynn Law and Richard Allen Gandee II were united in marriage on Aug. 11 in an outdoor wedding at the Ritchie County 4-H Grounds in Harrisville. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Pastor John Frum.
The bride is the daughter of Butch and Susie Law of Harrisville. She is the granddaughter of Marlene Law of Harrisville and the late David Law, Bill and Dorothy Lieving of Parkersburg and the late Joseph Foster. She is a graduate of Ritchie County High School and a May 2012 graduate of West Virginia University with a doctorate of pharmacy. She is employed by Rite Aid in Harrisville.
The groom is the son of Richard and Amanda Gandee of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Barbara Rector of Belpre, the late Franklin Rector and the late Harvey and Nellie Gandee. He is a graduate of Parkersburg High School and is set to graduate in May 2013 from West Virginia University with a doctorate of physical therapy.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a strapless ivory gown made of satin with an embroidered netting. The sweetheart neckline bodice was adorned with beadwork and accented by a silk sash. She also wore a pearl necklace given to her by her grandmother, Dorothy Lieving. The bride carried a bouquet of blue and white hydrangeas and white roses.
Matron of honor was Rachel Shriver, sister of the bride, of Harrisville. Bridesmaids were Taylor Haddox, niece of the bride, of Harrisville, and Jessica Berdine of Arnoldsburg, W.Va. The flower girl was Alieyha Crawford, cousin of the groom, of Parkersburg.
Serving as best man was Matthew Childress of Cross Lanes, W.Va. Groomsmen were Reece Holtz of Parkersburg and Ryan Ruben of Evans, W.Va. Anthony Sellers of Parkersburg and Bryan Tolka of Morgantown served as ushers. The ring bearer was Ruger Law, nephew of the bride, of Harrisville.
Following the ceremony, a catered reception was held inside the Assembly Hall at the Ritchie County 4-H Grounds.
After a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Harrisville.
