I just had a total hip replacement in September, and I was operated on at the St. Joseph's Hospital campus. I have never been so well treated in my life. These folks were outstanding, from the doctors who performed the surgery, right down to the person that empties the trash can. I was treated like I was a king, and I am so almighty grateful for being in an area that has such a wonderful hospital.
After I was released from the hospital (four days) I was to start my physical therapy, which was a place of my choosing. Since I live in Rockport, the Mountain River Physical Therapy was our pick because it was only six miles from home. I did not know what to expect when I got there. Again, you would have thought I was some sort of dignitary, the way I was treated. My therapist was Stacey and her assistant, named Alisha. These two ladies bent over backward to ensure that I would walk right once again. Don't get me wrong, nothing is easy, but you have to really work at this or the operation will not work for you. These ladies showed me how to exceed and to me they went beyond the call of duty, to get this old man walking again, and I am proud to have went to this place for my recovery.
Back to the doctors once again and they said that maybe I could be a poster boy since I had done so well, and from the bottom of my heart I am grateful that I am living in this area, because some of the best folks in the world live right here.
