Catholic Charities hold food drive

November 15, 2012
Parkersburg News and Sentinel

PARKERSBURG - The local Catholic Charities West Virginia office is conducting a food drive for storm victims in the eastern counties of the state.

This is a coordinated effort with the West Virginia Voluntary Organization Assisting in Disasters. VOAD serves as the primary coordination organization for all disaster relief and recovery efforts in the state.

The need for canned goods and non-perishable food continues to grow as there is greater demand due to power outages and storm recovery.

Food collection boxes are located on the second floor of the Wood County Courthouse, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Eleventh and Market streets, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-noon.

The food will continue to be collected through Nov. 18. Contact Deborah Shaffer, regional director for Catholic Charities WV, at 304-424-3457 extension 130 for more information.
