Michael McKinley Little passed away on Nov. 12, 2012, of a heart attack at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born in San Jose, Calif. on May 13, 1977, and grew up in Danville, Calif. He graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1995, and attended West Virginia University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education.
He is survived by his parents, David and Sara of North Hills; a brother, John (Kathy) of Charleston; a much loved aunt and uncle, Max and Margaret Cowdery of Belpre; and several cousins, including Bruce Cowdery (Missy) of Belpre, Jay Cowdery (Jody) of Fountain Inn, S.C., David Cowdery of Birmingham, Ala., Briana Sams of Belpre, Scott Sams of Belpre, Nicholas Sams of Parkersburg and Eric Leach of Parkersburg; and special friends, Steve Davis and the Hollar Family of Morgantown. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie and Edith Little of Parkersburg; his maternal grandparents, Frank M. and Anna C. Leach, also of Parkersburg; and aunt, Susanne Sams of Belpre.
Michael taught eighth and ninth grade English at Edison Junior High School, and at the time of his death was employed as an adjunct instructor in English at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Michael was a compassionate and loving person with a razor sharp wit and a lively sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
