The man left entered a bluish-green older model vehicle similar to a Ford Escort and left the area going south on Emerson Avenue, according to witnesses.
Witnesses at the Front Row bar in the adjacent shopping center said the car was parked in front of the establishment, but they didn't see the suspect in it.
More than a half-dozen Parkersburg Police cars - many unmarked - were on-scene. A sign on the entrance to the bank stated it was "closed due to emergency."
