PARKERSBURG - Michael T. Galloway, 23, of Davisville, died Sunday afternoon at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a single-vehicle accident in which he was a passenger, said Sgt. Brett Pickens with the Wood County Sheriff's Department.
The accident happened about 2:27 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Nicholette Road off Davisville Road. Pickens said the driver of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, Charles A. McFee, 23, of Parkersburg, was driving east and had just negotiated a left-hand bend in the road when he lost control, went onto the eastbound berm and struck a tree head-on.
McFee and Galloway were transported to Camden Clark Medical Center's Memorial Campus. Galloway was later taken to Ruby Memorial, where he died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Pickens said.
McFee was admitted to CCMC on Sunday. Spokesman for CCMC Tim Brunicardi said McFee was treated and released Monday.
The accident remains under investigation, Pickens said.
