PARKERSBURG - Officials said Monday two juveniles are to be arrested for their alleged involvement in the vandalism of two skate facilities, both in south Parkersburg.
According to city police reports, on Oct. 16 at about 5 p.m. officers responded to Fort Neal Skate Park on First Avenue in south Parkersburg in reference to vandalism. Officials said the suspects had drawn obscene words and pictures on the skate park ramps.
On Oct. 20, an officer working an extra duty assignment at Skate Country, 1800 Sixth Ave., in south Parkersburg reported someone had used blue spray paint to vandalize the building.
Following several interviews, juvenile specialist police detective D.L. Brown requested juvenile petitions to be filed on a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, both of Parkersburg, in connection with the vandalism.
The paperwork referenced the juveniles alleged involvement in both vandalism crimes, said Parkersburg Police Department Sgt. Greg Collins. The Wood County Prosecutor's Office will review the information for potential criminal prosecution, Collins said.
