Melissa "Missy" Poole, 40, of Washington, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 2, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
Missy was born Nov. 8, 1971 in Parkersburg, a daughter of William "Buzzy" Holliday of Lubeck, W.Va., and the late Carolyn (Layman) Holliday.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School, an avid fan of dirt track racing and a member of the lady auxiliary in the Lubeck Fire Department. She was a loving housewife and an excellent mother to her daughter.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 18 years, Mike Poole; daughter, Trisha Poole of Washington, W.Va.; brother, Dave Holliday of Parkersburg; stepmother, Sandy Holliday of Lubeck, W.Va.; stepbrother, Eric Farnsworth (Sarah) of Washington, W.Va.; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Poole of Parkersburg; brothers-in-law, Adam Vincent of Ohio and Russ Vincent of Parkersburg; sisters-in-law, Diana Wiggins (Kenny) and Kelly McGill (John), both of Parkersburg; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father-in-law, Larry Poole.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family requests that donations in Missy's name be made to People's Bank to help defray the funeral expenses.
