Lula Marie Garber, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 30, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 11, 1927, in Royal Oak, Mich., a daughter of the late Thornton Burton and Mabel W. Vandergrift Carothers.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and the Wood County Technical School of Nursing. She was an LPN having worked for Dr. George Gevas, Dr. Randall Connoly and St. Joseph's Hospital. She also had taught lap quilting in association with the Wood County Board of Education. Her hobbies included quilting, roller skating, reading, geneology and she loved to dance.
Surviving are her three children, Danny (Debbie) Garber and Mary Ann (Terry) Brabham of Parkersburg and Bobbie Jo Janic of Cutler, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tracy Garber, Scott Garber, Billy (Shannon) Janic, Shane (Stephanie) Parker, Keith (Angie) Parker and Angela Rogers; 12 great-grandchildren, Jack Knutson, Mattie Garber, Scott Garber, Jr., Trevor Janic, Kaitlyn Janic, Madison Parker, Megan Parker, Matthew Parker, Kailei Parker, Taylor Parker, Samantha Rogers and Emma Jo Rogers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Garber in 2004, an infant son, John Taylor Garber; two sisters, Eloise Patterson McGuire of Parkersburg and Ruth Exline of Elkins, W.Va.
There will be no viewing or services.
