Jack Duane Carmichael, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died Oct. 30, 2012, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born in Belpre on Dec. 2, 1933, and was the son of the late Walter Alonzo and Althea Clark Carmichael. He was a 1951 graduate of Belpre High School. He worked for 10 years for Union Carbide, and for 32 years in Texas as Service Manager for Toledo Scale Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran having spent time serving in Germany.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Loretta Lou Stewart Carmichael; two sisters, Irene (Roy) Sees of Belpre and Ruth (Jack) Carpenter of Belpre; and a sister-in-law, Theda Carmichael of Ft. Pierce, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Carmichael; and a sister, Carolyn Sue Hardee.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Ken Fullerton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
