Consuelo Helena Pickens, 83, of Williamstown, W.Va. died Oct. 25, 2012, at the Harmar Place in Marietta, Ohio.

She was born April 9, 1929, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Charles Newton and Elsie Everhart Backus.

She was retired from the Wood County Board of Education as a custodian and was a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children, Carolyn (Jim) Kimball of Williamstown, Robert (Mary) Flowers of Newark, Kathryn Dotson of Williamstown, George W. Pickens of Williamstown; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and stepdaughter, Joan Simmons of Michigan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claire Isaac Flowers, second husband Roy Clinton Pickens; twelve brothers and sisters and two stepsons.

Services will be Saturday 2 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Mike Horner officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown. Visitation will be today, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
