Lionel Keith Knopp, 64, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away Oct. 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 24, 1948, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Richard and Laureda Parsons Knopp.
Lionel was an U.S. Army veteran and retired after 30 years service with the O'Ames Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, antiques and auctions and was a member of Calvary Memorial Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Waltraud "Val" Touby Knopp; two sons, James "J.B." Knopp and his wife, Jaime, of Beckley, W.Va., and Chris Knopp and his wife, Jenny, of Ravenswood, W.Va.; six brothers and sisters, Gary Knopp of Vienna, Gene Knopp of Parkersburg, Leon Knopp of Mineral Wells, Paula Righter of Parkersburg and Terry and Danny Knopp, both of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Brittany, Caleb, Josie, Lanie, Ella and Calder; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
