PARKERSBURG - The Parkersburg News and Sentinel is looking for stories and photos to honor area military veterans for their service.
The newspaper plans to publish a special section, entitled Honoring Our Veterans, on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, containing stories about those who have served.
"We are asking readers to send us a photo of the veteran and information about the veterans and their service so we can include it in the special section," said Jim Smith, executive editor.
The newspaper needs the information and photo by Nov. 1 to be included in the edition.
"We know this area has a long and proud history of military service and we want to include in the section as many veterans from all time periods of our nation's history as are submitted to the newspaper," Smith said.
The newspaper hopes to make the section an annual event to pay tribute to those who have served their nation in uniform and put their lives on the line in defense of the country and its core values.
Send the photograph, information on the veteran, a contact person's name and telephone number by Nov. 1 to Honoring Our Veterans, Parkersburg News and Sentinel, 519 Juliana St., Parkersburg, WV 26101, or place it on the virtual newsroom at www.newsandsentinel.com or send via email to editorial@newsandsentinel.com with Honoring Our Veterans in the subject line.
If your business or group wishes to support the section, contact Darlene Dimit at 304-485-1891, Ext. 242.
