I am writing in regard to the situation of the homeless around the Kmart Plaza on Division Street. The people who live in the Ninth Avenue area have many complaints.
These people live in the woods behind and beside this shopping center. They are breaking into houses, harassing the children who live in this area. I have to wonder if any of them are sex offenders. They have actually stopped people and demanded they get them drugs. They use the bathroom behind bushes and trees in people's yards.
This has truly became a problem. The police have been called many times to an empty house where they stay a lot. They have ruined this house by using the bathroom all through it. When police are called they show up but won't go in the woods where they hide.
It's come to the point where you can not let children outside to play because of them.
The city of Parkersburg needs to get serious and do something about this and get these people somewhere.
