Homer Allen Miller

Homer Allen Miller, 82, passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2012, at Hillside Nursing Center, where he had resided for the past six years.

Homer was born in Duck, Braxton County, W.Va. on Sept. 29, 1930, to the late Clarence Ray Miller and Hazel Audry Frame Miller. He was a graduate of Bristol High School, W.Va., with the class of 1949. He was employed at Kaiser Aluminum, later known as International Converters, Belpre, Ohio, from April 1958 until he retired in 1994. He married Joetta Boyce, Sept. 27, 1951 and served in the Marines from Nov. 1951 until Nov. 1953. He resided in Marietta, Ohio most of his life. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, July 1963.

Surviving are his wife, Joetta Boyce Miller; daughter, Linda Miller Abbott and her husband Mark of Knightdale; son, Garry Allen Miller and his wife Michelle of Daly City, Calif.; one granddaughter, Amanda Abbott; four grandsons, Dustin, Benjamin, Matthew and Ethan Miller; three great-grandchildren, Alex Olea, Alicia and Amilee Abbott. In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamra Lynn Miller; and sister, Leah Ferrando and husband David.
