Couch believes in his community

October 19, 2012
Parkersburg News and Sentinel

I knew Dave Couch. Just like Warren Carter said in his letter, Dave was the kindest man I knew. Dave worked hard and served our community with compassion and honesty. He never had an "agenda." He was committed to the betterment of all. I miss him and think of him often.

In November, the voters will have a chance to re-elect his son Blair, back to the county commission. I know Blair has many of the same qualities of his father. I can't help but see Dave in Blair. They are the same in many ways.

Blair works hard. His kids go to the Wood County schools, the same as he did. His wife, Kim, is dedicated to our community as well. Blair and Kim have a passion to serve and it shows. The Couch family never ceases to amaze me with their dedication and spirit, active involvement and dedication in all areas of their lives. I know Dave would be proud of what he has done. I know Dave would be proud of what he has become.

I believe it is important to keep a lifelong Wood Countian, a pro-business commissioner if we want to see new jobs and expansion of industry. Blair will be our best hope for our economy. Blair believes in us. I believe in him.
