I would like to shed some light on a potentially dangerous situation: The Southwood Park softball field. The field is being used by the Mid-Ohio Valley Church Softball League in the summer. The problem is the lights on the field are only half lit in places making fielding in night games hazardous. There were 27 teams this past season that were part of the league. Teams were assessed a league fee, some of which was supposed to be used for the upkeep of the field.
Does someone have to be seriously injured before this situation is corrected? I implore the city of Parkersburg to fix the lighting at the softball field. I guess it would be cheaper to fix the lights that to pay for any lawsuits that may result from accident or injury due to faulty lighting.
