Timothy Allen Fittro, 53, of Vienna, W.Va., died Oct. 14, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born May 15, 1959 in Louisville, Ky., a son of James and Marilyn Jean Mitchell Fittro of Vienna, W.Va. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Economics from West Virginia University, with an emphasis on regional, national and international development. He was a member of the Order of the Grail Junior Class Honorary at WVU, Helvetia Sophomore Class Honorary at WVU and was an avid WVU fan. He was a member of the Big Red Band, graduating from PHS in 1977. He volunteered with the Vienna Recreation Improvement Association, coached for Vienna Recreation Teams, was a volunteer announcer for Parkersburg High School Soccer games and started the Mid-Ohio Valley Adult Baseball League. He formed the statewide Organization of Men and Women Against Discrimination, a volunteer organization which promotes parental rights and working to strengthen state law to protect important family relationships. He was appointed American Legion Mountaineer Boys State Citizen. He also was an Insurance Agent with Azinger-Fittro Insurance Agency and owner of Allied-Fittro Computer Services.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Timothy Allen Fittro II of Vienna; one daughter, Haileah Marie Parker of Mineral Wells; one brother, Michael J. Fittro of Vienna; one sister, Sherry M. (Brian) Cline of Elizabeth; maternal grandfather, Charles E. Mitchell of Parkersburg; three uncles, Robert B. (Patricia) Fittro of Parkersburg, Thomas H. (Barbara) Fittro of Mineral Wells and Richard T. (Lita) Mitchell of New Jersey; one aunt, Regina K. Mitchell (Larry) Abbott of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Lynn Fittro in 2007.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Bishop Miles Bohning officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
