St. Marys 54, Gilmer County 20
ST. MARYS - The St. Marys Blue Devils (6-1) continued their offensive assault a week after putting up 72 points with 54 points at home on Friday night in a 54-20 triumph over visiting Gilmer County.
The Blue Devils scored 33 points in the first quarter alone, led by David Gray's two TD runs of 5 and 27 yards as well as a 52-yard touchdown reception from Andrew Cosper. Johnny Riggs also contributed with a 34-yard scoring strike from Cosper in the first. St. Marys added a touchdown in each of the final three quarters.
Gilmer County (2-6) made it a game early at 14-6, but that's as close as the Titans would get to the lead for the rest of the night. Gilmer's first score came on a 56-yard interception return from Ty Harkleroad with 6:31 left in the first.
The Blue Devils travel to South Harrison next week to face the 3-4 Hawks, who are coming off a loss to Tyler Consolidated.
