A few months ago I prepared a message that underscored that our nation needs true fathers and mothers to emerge once again into the primary roles of leadership. A true father establishes identity and carries a strong priority of stewardship for those in his care. This includes protection, provision and positioning the next generation for advancement and achievement. Our nation was initiated and built by those we call our "Founding Fathers." These were men who embraced a strong Biblical world view and their decisions and legislation flowed from it.
At every level today we need men and women of character, integrity, ability and vision to serve and steward the incredible blessing we have of liberty and freedom. Like many of you, I see freedom eroding and tyranny increasing as false stewards step into the vacuum of leadership we have allowed; but this is changing. Patriots, citizens and yes, even church leaders, are engaging in the process of electing new leaders who reflect the important ideals that are rooted in faith, family and freedom.
I am personally encouraged to see at the county commissioner level two candidates that I believe feel the same way and have a sincere desire to bring strong stewardship to this important Washington County position. These two candidates are hardworking, diligent, and most importantly understand that they represent their neighbors and friends throughout the county. They are both tenacious in discovering the facts, liberty minded, seasoned businessmen in the local community, and fathers whose sons have served or are preparing to serve in our armed forces.
I believe that Ron Feathers and David White bring a fresh leadership approach to the position of commissioner and will work to steward our emerging natural resources and future opportunities and challenges. They are both well informed and ready to enthusiastically embrace the responsibilities before them. It is a great honor to vote, as we do, let's evaluate our leaders and choose good stewards for every office from the next commissioner to the next president.
