PARKERSBURG - A Parkersburg man with outstanding warrants in two other states was arrested by law enforcement Thursday following a domestic disturbance on Lulu Street.
Parkersburg police Sgt. Greg Collins said city police arrested Timothy M. Maston of Parkersburg on multiple counts of domestic abuse, battery and obstruction.
Police were called to the 700 block of Lulu Street Thursday around 10:45 p.m. for a domestic violence situation.
Upon arrival, a woman stated Maston hit her in the mouth with a closed fist. And a man advised officers Maston swung at him with a knife, causing an injury to his chin.
"According to the two victims and a witness, Maston also allegedly retrieved multiple knives from the kitchen, stating that if the police were called he would kill them," Collins stated in a release.
During the incident, Maston also reportedly caused damage to the apartment.
Collins said Maston was not at the scene during the initial call and interviews but reportedly returned shortly after officers left the residence to complete the report.
"Officers were dispatched back to the residence in short order, with the caller advising Maston had a knife in his possession," the release stated.
Officers from the Parkersburg Police Department and a West Virginia State trooper arrived and began a search for Maston. He was located allegedly hiding between a wall and a bed. According to Collins, Maston was allegedly reluctant to follow instructions and screamed at officers to shoot him.
Maston was instead pepper sprayed, after engaging officers, and handcuffed. He was taken to police headquarters and processed without further incident. He was charged with two counts of domestic battery, two counts of domestic assault and two counts of obstructing.
Maston was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court Friday morning and held on a $2,200 bond. He was to be transferred to the North Central Regional Jail.
Collins said a computer check on the 34-year-old Maston revealed three outstanding warrants. He was wanted by the state of Florida for a parole violation, and in Washington County, Ohio, for failure to appear in court. He's also charged with domestic battery in Marietta.
Collins said all agencies refused to extradite him on the charges.
