Ava Ruble

Ava (Robinson) Ruble, 91, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away Oct. 4, 2012, at Worthington Nursing Home of Parkersburg after an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late Eddie and Hattie (Blazier) Robinson.

She was a graduate of Wirt County High School and Glenville State College where she received her teaching degree.

Ava taught school in Wirt County for over 50 years, she taught in many of the old one room schools for years and later the Wirt County Elementary school, and substituted for a number of years in Wirt County High, Middle and Grade Schools.

Her passion was gardening and working on the farm and raising her 4 boys,

She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church, and a former member of the Wirt County Farm Bureau.

She was married to the late James Ruble for over 60 years.

She is survived by her four boys: Laird (Ravel) Ruble of Williamstown, W.Va., Lewis (Debra) Ruble of Palestine, Michael (Brenda) Ruble of Lesage, W.Va. and Robert (Joann) Ruble of Bluefield, W.Va.; grandchildren: Chad Ruble of Spokane, Wash., Tammy Catt of W. Memphis, Ark., Brandon Ruble of Lesage, Jacob Ruble of Lesage, Amy Roberts of Lesage, Stephanie Wood of Lesage, Robbie Ruble of Princeton, W.Va., Mary Ruble of Princeton, Crystal Hendrik of Bluefield, W.Va., Ryan Smith of Bluefield, Amy Lockney of Palestine, W.Va., Amber Jones of Parkersburg, Nathanael Ruble of Wichita, Kan., Laird James Ruble ll, of Fairplain, W.Va. and Rachel Ruble of Williamstown; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ruth and Ester

She was preceded in death by great grandchild Dalton Walker and her husband.

Memorial services will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until time of service. Graveside services will follow at Sayre Cemetery of Palestine.
