Phyllis M. Rhoades Butler, 80, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1932, in Point Pleasant, W.Va., the daughter of the late Mildred and Harry Auldin Rhoades. She was the granddaughter of the late Maud and Guy Ellis, George Rhoades, Vinnie Kerwood and Strauther See.
Phyllis graduated from Marietta High School class of 1950 and Mrs. Butler graduated from Marietta School of Practical Nursing in 1972. She graduated from Parkersburg Community College with Associate of Applied Sciences in 1976. She was a retired Registered Nurse (RN), and was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Deidra Butler of Belpre and Dawn Butler (Tracy) Brooks of Gastonia, N.C.; a sister, Ruth Hines and a brother Gary (Pat) Rhoades, both of Marietta; two granddaughters, Courtney Brooks of Houston, Texas, and Hayley Brooks of Gastonia, N.C.; two grandsons, Donald and David Fuller of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter Teresa Butler Fuller and her brother Jack Roades.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, with Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Friends may call from noon until time of services. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum.
