SSG Bill C. Anderson, 59, of Parkersburg, died on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Parkersburg, Oct. 15, 1952, to the late Jack and Zollie Thompson Anderson.
Bill proudly retired from the West Virginia Army National Guard after serving for 31 years. He also worked as a Pipefitter for Local #565. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and driving his Camaro, and fixing old farm machinery.
He is survived by one sister, Peggie Lawrentz (Charlie) of Mineral Wells; one brother, Larry Anderson (Jane) of Walker, W.Va.; one niece and three nephews, John Lawrentz of Vincent, Ohio, Jason Lawrentz (Danielle) of Superior, Colo., Abby Bryan (Patrick) of Parkersburg, and Jesse L. Anderson of Lafayette, Colo.; and one great niece and five nephews, Seth, Landon, and Asher Bryan and Tyler, Trent, and Reagan Lawrentz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rebecca Ellen and Susan Elaine.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Pasi Sikio officiating. Burial will follow the service at the family's private cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
