Madelon Kimes Halverson, 97, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Oct. 10, 2012, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, Fla.
She was born Jan. 19, 1915 in Parkersburg, W.Va., beloved daughter of Okey Forrest and Edna Nuzzum Kimes.
She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1933, and attended the Ringling School of Art in 1943-44 studying and excelling in Fashion Design. Mrs. Halverson was a 75 year member of the Sarasota Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; a member of the Colonial Dames and a member of the Huguenot Society in Sarasota, Fla.. She had her own businesses in Vienna, W.Va., and Sarasota, Fla. as a fashion designer and dressmaker. She was a resident of Sarasota for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold G. Halverson.
She is survived by cousins and many friends. As to her wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will be handled by Toale Brothers Crematory. Internment will be in Palms Memorial Park, Sarasota, Fla.
