VIENNA - The League of Women Voters of Wood County has invited the candidates for Vienna mayor, recorder and city council to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Vienna Community Building in Jackson Park.
There are 13 candidates running in a nonpartisan election for the five seats on Vienna City Council. Two candidates are seeking the mayor's office. The one candidate for recorder is running unopposed. Those elected will serve four-year terms.
Each candidate will give an opening statement. Because of the number of candidates the public will then be allowed to mingle with the candidates and ask questions directly.
The meeting is co-sponsored by the League of Women voters of Wood County, the Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of AARP and the Vienna Senior Citizens.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Vienna voters can attend to meet the candidates and learn about the issues. Refreshments will be available.
Voters will be able to vote the General Election ballot at several early voting places, including the Vienna City Building, from Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Nov. 3 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or at their regular polling places on Nov. 6 from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
