Stephen W. Burdette, 64, died Sept. 24, 2012, at his home in South Solon, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Jewel and C. Richard Burdette Jr.
He was a 1965 graduate from Parkersburg High School and attended Bliss College and Columbus State College in Ohio. He was employed by JD Equipment of Ohio as the Manager of Agricultural Finance for 30 years. An avid OSU fan, he also enjoyed spending time in Myrtle Beach and Florida and time with his family. He attended Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Sherlyn Winans Yeater Burdette; three children, Stacey (Mike) Wachsman of Delaware, Ohio, and Brian and Erick (Tiffney) Burdette of Columbus, Ohio; five stepchildren, Lisa (Zach) Wynn of Stewart, Ohio, Bob (Tessa) Yeater of Merida, Mexico, and Anna Yeater, Christa (Chris) Lowe and Darrell Yeater of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, Abby, Raven, Emmett, Chiara, Seraphim, Allysa, Allison, Ashton, Austin, Eden and Emma; two sisters, Mary (John) Sprouse and Jane Burdette of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home And Crematory in London, Ohio, on Sept. 27, 2012. Pastor Kelly McInerney and Brother Bob Yeater officiated.
