May I suggest that a law enforcement superior have in his arsenal a bean pellet weapon that doesn't kill a subject, only temporarily immobilizing him, thus possibly enabling the subject to shed light on other crimes. Killing a subject on the spot has further anguished families who wanted to know the whereabouts of bodies in order to have a respectful burial. So "shooting first and asking questions later" is not always sound policy by law enforcement officers.
Finally, as for the Jody Wilson death, I have a lot of questions. Why? There was an army of officers there with sophisticated weaponry, high-beam lights, sound system and cover. Also, they had intelligence of Jody's character before their assault on the residence.
How could an alleged drugged young man out in the open with no cover have been such a threat? I hope the officers tried negotiations with Jody first.
