St. Marys 72, Calhoun County 0
ST. MARYS -St. Marys scored 42 first quarter points here Friday night en route to a 72-0 Little Kanawha Conference win over visiting Calhoun County.
The Blue Devils (6-1) scored all their points in the first half before coach Jodi Mote cleared the bench for the final two quarters, which ended up scoreless.
Noah Spitzer scored on run of 6, 20 and 10 yards and Derek Barnhart added a pair of scores on runs of 29 and 7 yards.
Others scoring for St. Marys included Jeremy Pratt, Jared Dils and Jacob Cox on runs, Brett Fetty on a fumble return and Colby Brode on an interception return.
Spitzer rushed for 63 yards on six carries while Andrew Cosper had 45 yards and completed four of six passes for 96 yards, with Johnny Riggs snagging three catches for 74 yards.
St. Marys travels to Gilmer County next Friday while Calhoun County (2-5) hosts Buffalo.
Magnolia 51, Weir 12
WEIRTON-No. 7 (Class A) Magnolia piled up 315 yards on the ground en route to posting a 51-12 victory over Weir.
Kage Rohde tallied three touchdowns and rushed for 93 yards on only six carries while Stephen Rogalski added 81 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and scored on a 35-yard pass from Tanner Hanna to post its sixth win of the season.
The Blue Eagles will have next Friday off before playing host to Barnesville on Homecoming Night on Friday, Oct. 19.
Chillicothe 38, Warren 7
CHILLICOTHE - Warren fell to 2-5 overall after dropping a 38-7 decision at Chillicothe in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League football game Friday night.
The Andy Schob-coached Warriors are winless in the SEOAL with a an 0-2 mark.
Warren's only touchdown came in the second quarter when quarterback Dylan Leffingwell hit tight end David Ryan with an 11-yard scoring strike. Chas Miller kicked the extra point.
With that score, the Warriors reduced the deficit to 14-7.
Leffingwell finished the game with 117 passing yards on 11 of 27 throws. The senior signal caller also had one toss intercepted.
Hurricane 21, Ripley 0
HURRICANE-The Redskins rushed for 193 yards and passed for 196 and the Hurricane defense limited Ripley to 90 total yards of offense en route to a 21-0 shutout Friday night.
Zack Pate ran for touchdowns of 4 and 7 yards and finished with 77 on 17 carries as Hurricane improved to 4-2 on the season. Ripley, now 3-4, plays at St. Albans on Friday.
Doddridge County 58,
Gilmer County 18
WEST UNION-Wyatt Ford rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead unranked Doddridge County (5-2) to a 58-18 win over Gilmer County (2-5) Friday night during "Black Out" at Cline Stansberry Field.
Ford opened the scoring with a 9-yard run and the Bulldogs, who play host to Eastern next Friday night, led by a 36-0 score at the intermission. Devin Anderson chipped in with 81 yards on the ground while David Lipscomb completed 2-of-6 attempts for 34 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Daniel Plaugher.
Oak Glen 26,
Tyler Consolidated 20, OT
KIDWELL -Oak Glen (4-3) intercepted a Tyler Consolidated pass in overtime, then converted its possession into a 20-yard TD run by quarterback Bub Haddox to pull out a hard-fought 26-20 win over the Silver Knights.
Tyler quarterback Hunter LeMasters scored on a pair of 2-yard runs and also threw a 56-yard TD pass to Levi Henderson. LeMasters completed 14 of 23 passes for 257 yards with Alex Doak hauling in five for 57 yards and Henderson catching three for 83 yards.
Tyler Consolidated (1-5) will travel to South Harrison next Friday.
Belpre 21, South Gallia 6
CROWN CITY, Ohio-Manny Toiez rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to lead visiting Belpre to its second victory of the season, 21-6 over host South Gallia.
Tavian Miller chipped in with 44 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and completed 3-of-7 passes for 25 yards. Nate Teeters picked off a pass and returned it 50 yards for a score and Cody Martin picked off a pass to end the game.
Belpre, now 2-5 on the season, returns to action next Friday night at Trimble, which defeated Eastern, 39-0.
Buffalo 23, Wirt County 21
BUFFALO -Wirt County lost a heartbreaker here Fruday night, dropping a 23-21 decision to Buffalo in a key Class A contest.
The Tigers trailed 23-14 with 59 seconds left when Josh Trembly scored his second TD of the game from 3 yards out and Chad Moore successfully booted his third extra point. But the Tigers never got a chance to win the contest in the closing minute as Buffalo ran out the clock to preserve its fifth win in six attempts.
Wirt (4-2) got a 202-yard passing performance from Trembly. J.T. Stephens caught three passes for 64 yards.
Wirt travels to Williamstown next Friday.
Frontier 34, Caldwell 29
NEW MATAMORAS, Ohio -Frontier rallied for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns here Friday night to down visiting Caldwell, 34-29, in a Pioneer Valley Conference contest.
The Cougars trailed 29-22 entering the fourth quarter and pulled to within one on a 4-yard TD run by Jordan Jefferson with 8:53 to go, then won the game on a 3-yard TD run by Jared Howell.
Howell scored twice for the Cougars while rushing for 68 yards. Taylor Merkle had a TD and was Frontier's top rusher with 90 yards. Eddie Salazar had 66 rushing yards. Jefferson threw for 123.
Caldwell got 124 yards rushing and a TD from Bricker Lori and 80 yards and a score from Andrew Minosky.
Frontier (3-4) entertains Valley next Friday while Caldwell (1-6) travels to Fort Frye.
Waterford 41, Green 18
WATERFORD, Ohio - The Waterford Wildcats snapped a five game losing streak with a 41-18 victory over Green Friday on Homecoming Night. The Tom Tucker-led Wildcats rolled for 301 yards on the ground, 218 of which came from running back Hunter Munjas. Munjas also had three rushing touchdowns and a pick six to lead the team.
