Parkersburg News and Sentinel

PARKERSBURG - Opening ceremonies for the Parkersburg Police Department's new substation will be 9 a.m. Monday at 401A 13th St. in the Savage Apartments.

The substation is on the northeast corner of 13th and Avery streets in the apartment complex.

Police Chief Joe Martin and Mayor Bob Newell worked with Rick Hamilton, the owner of Savage Apartments, for several months on the project.

The new substation will be funded through Community Development Block Grant funds and will be administered through the police department's Community Oriented Police Enforcement program.

The substation at City Park will remain active with C.O.P.E. officer, Patrolman T.R. Worstell responsible for coordinating business and activities at both locations.
