Hobert E. Gilpin, 89, husband of Charlaine Eloise Reynolds Gilpin for 68 years, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Emeritus Senior Living.
Born in Salem, W.Va. on Aug. 30, 1923, he was the son of the late Kay Hobert and Lena Frum Gilpin. He was a concrete finisher, Superintendent of Pleasants County Department of Highways and member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Hobert enjoyed hunting, camping and watching the WVU Mountaineers.
Survivors, other than his wife, include four children, Patricia (Ron) Gilpin Jeffrey, Kay W. (Judy) Gilpin, Beverly (Mike) Gilpin-Morris and Rex E. (Kathy) Gilpin; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Gibson, Angela (Steve) Osbourn, Craig Jeffrey, Darin L. Gilpin, Brian D. (Laura) Gilpin, Julie (Bryan) Gilpin Stafford, Aaron Littman, Amber (Rafael) Littman Molina, Ashlee (Jonathan) Gilpin Cooper and Lydia (Max) Gilpin Neubauer; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., with Rev. Gene Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
