Hazel Louise Stanley Baker, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sept. 30, 2012, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
She was born in McFarland, W.Va. on March 24, 1926, a daughter of the late George and Stella Stanley. Hazel loved reading her Bible, doing puzzles, sewing and gardening. She loved and was very devoted to family and friends. She loved life in general. She will truly be remembered by all who knew her.
Hazel is survived by one brother, George (Jr.) Stanley; son, Norman (Sonny) and Donna Baker; daughter, Nuwanna (Connie) and Gary Roberts; daughter-in-law, Deanna Baker of Alaska; seven grandchildren, Adam and wife Jessie, Vanessa Baker, Norman and Kenny Roberts, Dawn Marie Brickel, Alva Leon and Estee Baker; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman Gale Baker; son, George (Mike) Baker; three brothers, Paul, Wallace and Edward Stanley; and one sister, Charlotte (Stanley) Sellers.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
