PARKERSBURG A third person was charged on Thursday with concealing the dead body found on Sept. 20 in the trunk of a car at a Parkersburg car wash, the Parkersburg Police Department said.
Crystal Dawn Smith, 38, 1614 Seventh St., Parkersburg, was charged with concealing a deceased body and conspiracy to conceal a dead body, both felonies, Sgt. Greg Collins said.
Authorities found the body of Brandy Marie Adams, 25, Parkersburg, at the Seventh Street Car Wash, 1957 Seventh St. The use of illegal drugs contributed to her death, police said.

A criminal complaint filed by police in Wood County Magistrate Court said Smith conspired with Arthur Allen Thornton, 42, 3509 Sixth Ave., Parkersburg, and Victor Lee Thompson, 34, 906 1/2 Tygart St., Parkersburg, to Adams' body from the place of death, No. 57 Meadowbrook Trailer Park, placing it in the trunk of a car and taking it to the car wash.
Thornton and Thompson were arrested on Sept. 21.
Smith was to be arraigned Thursday night in magistrate court.
Adams body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's in Charleston with no obvious cause of death discovered during the examination, police said. Toxicology reports are not expected for several more weeks, police said.
The case is likely to be closed upon receipt of the toxicology results with no other arrests anticipated at this time, provided there are no new developments in the case, Collins said.
