Harold ‘Stoney’ Burke

Harold E. "Stoney" Burke, 73, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Sept. 23, 2012, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born in Blacksville, W.Va., the son of the late Charles Edward Burke and Margaret Tennant Burke Smith. He had at one time worked for F.M.C. American Viscose, the McElroy Coal Mines and had retired as a truck driver after 28 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, working in his building and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Louise Martin Burke of Vienna; his children, Tim Boso of Vienna, Brian and Chong Burke of El Paso, Texas, Steve and Shirley Boso of Belpre, Ohio, Cindy and Randy Jenkins of Vienna, Tonya and Darrell Flanagan of Washington, W.Va. and Kimberly and Steve States of Parkersburg; one brother, John (Rosa) Burke of Morgantown; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Betty Burke; his step-father, Jesse K. Smith; and his special angel great-granddaughter who he is now with, Cailyn Renea Lynch.

A memorial visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Oct. 6, at the Leavitt Family Center, 620 Avery St., Parkersburg.
