PARKERSBURG -The high school football season has reached the halfway point with only one Mid-Ohio Valley school, Wahama, without a loss.
The 5-0 White Falcons will entertain one-win Southern this Friday night in a Tri Valley Conference contest as the second half of the season gets under way.
Meanwhile, for the first time in six weeks, all three Wood County stadiums will play host to Friday night games. At Stadium Field, Parkersburg High will celebrate Homecoming against long-time rival Riverside, while the Erickson All-Sports Facility will witness Parkersburg South taking on Friendship Collegiate Academy, a Washington, D.C. powerhouse who was 2-0 heading into Saturday night's game in Chicago against Leo High School.
At Williamstown, one of the biggest rivalries in the Little Kanawha Conference will take place with the Yellowjackets meeting St. Marys, a game that always has huge ramifications for the league's Class A championship.
The only Wood County team that will play on the road is Parkersburg Catholic, which will venture to West Union on Friday night to meet Doddridge County at Cline Stansberry Stadium.
In a big Class AA showdown in the Little Kanawha Conference, Ravenswood will visit Ritchie County, while in Class A South Harrison will visit Calhoun County.
