I am an armchair quarterback and politician. I cannot understand how people who have worked and paid into Social Security and Medicare over the years want to vote for people who promise to privatize the Social Security and voucherize Medicare and get rid of "Obamacare." As a senior who has seen my small IRA diminish after the collapse of Lehman Brothers and everything else in 2006 through 2008, I certainly do not want my Social Security in the stock market.
Six thousand dollars to $8,000 would not be sufficient for me nor my wife to buy our health insurance, pay the copays and the deductibles plus all our medications. If people think the poverty rate is high now, wait till all my senior citizen friends lose everything because of medical bills.
If we lose "Obamacare" when I get to the "donut hole" from Medicare Part D, I will have to pay full price. Two of my medications for diabetes would cost me over $700 a piece for three month supply. With "Obamacare" this year I only pay 50 percent or over $300 and by 2020 I won't have to worry about the "donut hole."
I urge people to vote for President Obama to keep this country moving forward and not backward.
