COLUMBUS, Ohio - Marietta College managed just 88 total yards of offense on Saturday afternoon as the Pioneers fell on the road to Capital University, 13-7.
The Pioneers, now 0-2 with a 7 p.m. home game next Saturday against Mount Union, got their only touchdown when Louis DiPaolo had a 91-yard pick-6 with 1:46 left in the third.
Travis Bosanac booted a 33-yard field goal to give Capital a 3-0 advantage at halftime. The hosts got a 10-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Kremcheck to Casey Meridieth to make it 10-0 with 7:43 left in the third. Bosanac added a 45-yard field with 3:16 left in the contest.
Bo Hardy rushed for game-highs of 26 attempts and 197 yards in the victory.
Marietta College was led by Alexander Fountain, who had eight carries and 45 yards on the ground. MC signal-callers Thomas Hinkle and Tom Fulton combined to go just 3 of 12 for 30 yards.
