ATHENS, W. Va. - Jeff Green's 11-yard fumble recover for a touchdown with 8:17 left in the fourth quarter here Saturday lifted visiting Charleston to a 17-14 victory against defending WVIAC champion Concord.
UC (3-0, 1-0) jumped ahead 10-0 early via a Puma Nuredini 32-yard field goal and a Jordan Roberts 5-yard TD run. Albert Rose and Ben Nester had short scoring runs for the Mountian Lions (1-2, 0-1) to give Concord a 14-10 cushion it couldn't hold.
Roberts had just 48 yards rushing on 17 attempts while Charleston teammate John Knox had 93 yards on 16 carries.

Shepherd 42, Seton Hill 6
GREENSBURG, Pa. - Bobby Cooper threw four touchdown passes, two of which went to Larry Lowe, as Shepherd drilled host Seton Hill, 42-6, here Saturday.
The Rams (2-1, 1-0) held a dominating 461-193 advantage in total yards versus the Griffins (0-3, 0-1).
Cooper missed on just four of his 28 attempts and finished with 286 yards passing. Seton Hill's Ryan Morris was 29 of 46 for 227 yards.
Ram Dominic Tolson also had a 42-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win.
West Liberty 33,
W.Va. Wesleyan 16
BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - West Liberty bolted to a 27-3 advantage after three quarters and knocked off host W.Va. Wesleyan, 33-16, on Saturday.
LD Crow went just 13 of 33, but finished with 205 yards passing and three scores for West Liberty (2-1, 1-0).
Bobcat Jeremy Musselman connected on 18 of 31 through the air for 245 yards and a pair of six-pointers. Lavaugh Hughes had game-highs of six catches and 121 yards W.Va. Wesleyan (0-3, 0-1).
Bowie State 24,
Fairmont State 17 (OT)
BOWIE, Md. The Bowie State Bulldogs (3-0) scored 24 unanswered points to beat the Fairmont State in overtime here Saturday afternoon. The Falcons (0-3, 0-1) led 17-0 with 11:46 to play before the Bulldogs scored the next 24 points of the game.
The Falcons were led offensively by Bobby Vega who passed for 166 yards on 14 of 27 attempts. He also threw for a touchdown and was intercepted twice.
Mark Sampson was on the receiving end of three passes for 87 yards. Daniel Monroe tallied 63 yards on 16 carries for the Falcons. Defensively the Falcons were led by Garrett Davis, who returned from injury with nine tackles on the afternoon. Matt Larrubia and Ronnie Lockhart also recorded eight tackles for the FSU defense.
FSU blocked a pair of Bowie State field goals and the Bulldogs blocked the game winning attempt by the Falcons in the fourth quarter. In addition, both teams turned the football over three times in the game.
Elon 48, W.Va. State 14
ELON, N.C. For the second consecutive week, West Virginia State traveled to North Carolina for a contest. The Yellow Jackets fell by a 48-14 score at FCS foe Elon Saturday afternoon.
WVSU was guided by Ricky Phillips' 14 completions for 167 yards and a touchdown. LeFloyd Phillips led the ground game with 70 yards on a mere six carries to go along with a touchdown run.
Defensively, Durelle Evans led the WVSU squad with five solo stops.
