Wanda F. Groves Grudier Wilcox, 82, of Vienna, passed away Sept. 11, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1930 at Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Howard L. and Delza M. Robinson Groves. Wanda was retired from C&P Telephone Company. She was a member of the C&P Pioneers Club and a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star. Wanda was a long standing member of First Christian Church, Parkersburg, where she had served as Deacon.
She is survived by step-daughters, Allyn Farley and Beth Wilcox, both of Florida, and Pam Gowen (Alan) of Maryland; nieces, Wilma Graham (Bob) of Pinch, W.Va., Sharon Parrill (Tom) and Carolyn Sue Hersman, all of Evans, W.Va.; grandchildren, Erryn Rivas (Carlos), Charlotte Anderson (Bill), James Farley (Krista) and Jonathan Gowen (Meghan); great-grandchildren, Gabriella Rivas and Graham Anderson; several great-nieces, including Shannon Price; and very close friends, Peggy Summers, Denise Kirsch and Keith Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gail W. Grudier in 1979; her second husband, Allen G. Wilcox in 2003; seven sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Rev. Janice E. Hill officiating. Concluding graveside services will be 2 p.m. at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
