Pauline K. Smith, 99, of Sandyville, W.Va., was carried home to her Lord on Sept. 7, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus, Parkersburg.
She was born July 4, 1913, a daughter of the late Ross and Ada Kent.
She was a lifelong resident of the Sandyville area and attended Gilmore High School, where she played, excelled and loved the game of basketball. She was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church, Sandyville, W.Va. To her family, she was known as "Mom."
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Somerville of Mineral Wells; a son, Sidney L. Smith and his wife, Inez, of Sandyville, W.Va.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Olen R. Smith; and a daughter, Linda Lue Smith.
Funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, W.Va., with visitation an hour prior to the service. The Rev. Danny McVey is officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowdale Cemetery, Sandyville, W.Va.
